Catholic Sabha Udyavara Unit Honours Academic Achievers at St Francis Xavier Church

On 14th June 2026 the Catholic Sabha Udyavara Unit organized a Pratibha Puraskar (Merit Award) Programme at St Francis Xavier Church, Udyavara, to recognize and encourage academic excellence among students. During the event, 15 students who achieved outstanding results in the SSLC and PUC examinations were felicitated for their remarkable performance.

The programme was attended by students, parents, parishioners, and members of the Catholic Sabha. Addressing the gathering, Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Anil D’Souza congratulated the students on their achievements and reminded them that academic results alone do not define success in life. He emphasized that students should cultivate human values and good character alongside academic excellence. He further noted that receiving an award for academic achievement is not the end of the journey, but rather an encouragement to strive for greater heights and make meaningful contributions to society.

Assistant Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Santhosh D’Almeida, SAC, and Rev. Deacon Kevin D’Souza were present on the occasion and joined in felicitating the students for their academic accomplishments. Also present were Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council Mr. Melvin Noronha, Secretary Mr. Wilfred D’Souza, and Parish Pastoral Commissions Coordinator Mrs. Irene Pereira, who extended their congratulations and best wishes to the awardees.

The awardees were felicitated with a shawl, Cerificate and Monetary Gifts in recognition of their outstanding academic performance. The programme served as an inspiration to young students and reaffirmed the Catholic Sabha Udyavara Unit’s commitment to promoting education and nurturing talent within the parish community.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks and best wishes for the continued success of all the students in their future academic and personal endeavors.
