An awareness session on Human Rights and Safeguarding was held on 16 August 2026 at 7:30 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church, Udyavar. The session was organized by the Commission for Justice and Peace to create greater awareness among the parish community about respecting human dignity, protecting the rights of every individual, and promoting a safe and caring environment within the Church and society.
The resource person for the session was Rev. Fr. Joachim D’Souza OFM Cap, who shared valuable insights on human rights and safeguarding. He highlighted the importance of respecting the dignity of every person and the responsibility of each individual to contribute towards creating a safe, respectful, and caring community.
The parishioners participated attentively and listened with great interest throughout the session. The programme helped the faithful to better understand their responsibility in safeguarding others and promoting justice, dignity, respect, and compassion in their families, parish, and society.
The session concluded with a renewed commitment among the parishioners to uphold human dignity and contribute to building a safe and just community.
