A Social Development Information Programme specially organized for men was conducted at St. Francis Xavier Church on 26 April 2026. The programme was led by Rev. Fr. Reginald Pinto, Director of Sampada.
The main objective of the programme was to encourage and motivate men to form Self-Help Groups within the parish community. Fr. Reginald Pinto explained the importance of unity, savings, mutual support, and collective responsibility through self help groups, which can contribute to the social and economic development of families and society.
During the session, participants were also informed about various government facilities and welfare schemes available for the public. Detailed guidance was provided on how people can benefit from these schemes related to financial assistance, social security, livelihood support, and community development initiatives.
A total of 75 men and 125 women participated in the programme. The gathering witnessed active interaction and enthusiastic participation from the attendees.
Fr. Reginald Pinto emphasized the need for active participation of men in social development activities and encouraged them to work together for the welfare of the community. The gathering was informative and inspiring, helping the participants understand the opportunities available through Self-Help Groups and government support programmes.
Parish members appreciated the initiative and expressed their willingness to take forward the message of cooperation and community development in the parish.
