“Celebration of the Day of the Laity”

The Catholic Sabha and the Commission for Laity of Udyavar Church joyfully celebrated the Day of Laity on 18th (Sunday) January 2026 at 8.30 am, at Udyavar Church. The celebration highlighted the vital role of the laity in the life and mission of the Church.

Rev. Fr Anil D’Souza, the Parish Priest, and Rev Fr Stephan Rodrigues, the Assistant Parish Priest, were present for the programme. The celebration was also graced by the presence of the Catholic Sabha office bearers, including   Vice President of Parish Pastoral Council Mr. Melvin Noronha, Secretary Mr. Wilfred D’Souza, and Parish Pastoral Commissions Coordinator Mrs. Irene Pereira.

During the programme, Rev Fr Anil D’Souza addressed the gathering and spoke meaningfully about the ministry of the laity. He emphasized the importance of their involvement, responsibility, and active participation in the pastoral and spiritual life of the parish. He encouraged the faithful to use their talents and gifts in service of the Church and society.
