Vanamahotsava Celebrated at Mother of Sorrows Chapel, Bolargudde

The Women Association and the Commission for Environment of the parish jointly celebrated Vanamahotsava on 9 July 2026 at 5:30 p.m. at Mother of Sorrows Chapel, Bolargudde, promoting environmental awareness and care for God’s creation.
The programme began with a warm welcome by Mr. Antony Almeida, In-charge of the Commission for Environment, who welcomed the gathering.
Addressing the gathering, Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Anil D’Souza stressed the importance of protecting nature and encouraged every family to plant and nurture at least one tree at their home as a commitment towards a greener and healthier environment.
The event was inaugurated by the Parish Priest through the symbolic distribution of saplings to Mrs. Gloria Pinto, President of the Women Association, and Mr. Antony Almeida, In-charge of the Commission for Environment. The Parish Priest, Assistant Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Santhosh D’ Almeida SAC, Deacon Kevin D’Souza, PPC Vice President Mr. Melvin Noronha, Mrs. Irene Pereira, Coordinator of the Commissions, and members of both associations then planted saplings around the chapel premises as a sign of their shared commitment to environmental conservation.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mrs. Gloria Pinto, President of the Women Association, who thanked everyone for their wholehearted support and participation in making the celebration meaningful and successful. Refreshments were served to all the participants at the end of the programme.
