Secular Franciscan Order Udupi Region with Udyavar unit Celebrated the Feast of St Francis Assisi

Udupi Region OFS community celebrated the feast of St. Francis of Assisi on October 10th at Udyavar Parish. Members of OFS from 9 Parishes came together to celebrate this feast in large number.
Rev. Fr. Anil Dsouza the Parish Priest of Udyavar was the main celebrant, Fr. Manohar D’Souza the National Spiritual Assistant preached a meaningful homily, Rev. Fr. Charles Menezes the Dean of Udupi Deanery, Fr. Lawrence Rodrigues and Fr. Edwin Monis the Spiritual Assistant of Udupi Region concelebrated the Eucharist and prayed for the people.
During the Holy Mass 5 of the members received the vestation, and 6 of the members made their promises to live the life according to the Third Order Constitutions, rules and regulations.
After the Holy Mass there was the stage programs. Fr. Anil D’Souza was the president of the program, Fr. Manohar D’Souza was the guest of honour, and Mrs. Irene Pereira the President of the OFS Udupi Region welcomed the guests and Rita Mathias the secretary of the OFS Udupi Region thanked the guests and all the participants for their constant guidance, support, encouragement, contributions and cooperation. Rev. Fr Stephan Rodrigues, Mr Lawrence D”sa Vice president, Mr John M. Dsouza, secretary of Udyavar parish council, Mrs. Flossy D’Souza president of SFO Udyavar parish were present.
The OFS members of the Udyavar parish and Postulant brothers from Assisi Nilaya, Moodubelle, and members from other parishes too participated in the cultural programs. Everyone enjoyed the cultural programs. Fr. Stephan the Assistant Parish Priest of Udyavar Parish, prayed over the meals and the festal celebration ended with the delicious food, everyone enjoyed the company of each other and thanked God fora the wonderful opportunity to come together and celebrate the feast of St. Francis of Assisi.
