Official Canonical Pastoral Visit -2024
Most Rev. Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo graced our church with his official canonical pastoral visit from 17th to 19th February, 2024. During this time, he diligently visited all our pious and secular institutions and encouraged them to live as per the motto of their associations and blessed our children. His presence radiated warmth and wisdom, fostering a sense of spiritual unity and guidance within our congregation. Through his dedicated visit, he strengthened the bonds of faith and community, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege to witness the event.
In addition, Most Rev. Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo, bestowed the sacrament of confirmation upon our twelve children during the Chrism Mass. and enriching their spiritual journey with his profound blessings and guidance.
He emphasized the importance of establishing personal relationship with parish clergy. He stressed that the Parish financial committee, Parish Pastoral Council, 20 Pastoral commissions, and parishioners to involve actively in various aspects of parish life.
He highlighted the need to understand the parish’s surroundings, socio-economic standard, ongoing pastoral needs, and overall operational dynamics.
He observed the significance of evaluating the parish’s faith-related components, such as educational programs for all age groups, sacramental and liturgical practices, community cohesion, shared responsibility, and societal engagement, alignment with the wider Church, financial management, and recordkeeping.
He stressed the importance of providing encouragement and hope to those dedicated to pastoral work, to all parishioners, and especially to the life of the youth. He underscored the importance of communicating the diocese’s pastoral priorities and fostering a sense of belonging within the universal Church.
The Bishop concluded his pastoral visit at 4 o’clock on the 19th of February 2024, marking the end of his visitation to the Parish community.
