Monthi Feast Celebration in Udyavar Parish

On 8th September a solemn celebration of Monthi feast was celebrated in Udyavar parish. the new corn blessing ceremony was commenced at 7:30Am at the shrine near St Francis Xavier Eng. Med. School. There after the blessing ceremony of the New Corn was initiated by Rev Fr Anil D’Souza the parish Priest.

Continued by Novena during which the children and the elders honored Mother Mary by offering flowers

Then the Cherol procession started toward the church led by Crucifix bearers followed by Band then the congregation.

The Festal mass was offered by Rev. Fr Anil D’Souza. Rev Fr Stephan Rodrigues concelebrated and preached a homily emphasizing the significance of the day with special press upon Family Life. later the Parish Priest wished the festal greetings and thanked all those who have contributed to enhance the Joy of the Celebration and invoked God’s Choicest blessings through the intercession of Mother Mary. at the end the prizes were given to the lucky draw winners and all the parishioners were served Keer mixed with new corn and also the sugarcane.
